Toyota has announced its updated RAV4 which has 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine with dual-motor hybrid power train.
Toyota has also developed a petrol-electric hybrid engine version for its RAV4. The complete hybrid version will get all-wheel drive.
Toyota has built its RAV4 with 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and installed electric motors to give the wheels extra power. Its engine has been built on the Lexus NX300h platform. The 2.5-litre petrol engine has power output of 195bhp and fuel economy of 54.3mpg whereas CO2 emission figures stay at 121g/km.
Toyota will also bring lighter engine version of RAV4 with better fuel efficiency and CO2 emission figures. It has been found that the lighter SUV will get the CVT automatic transmission.
The designers at Toyota combined their skills and creativity to give RAV4 a fresh and elegant look although some of the designing features have been borrowed from the Toyota Auris and Avensis.
But RAV4 got unique bumper design, sharp-edged LED headlamps, and sleeker grill. The cabin quality has been improved with soft-touch material and special efforts have been made for interior design. Toyota has also brought high quality fabric material for seats.
Toyota has incorporated low speed manoeuvring capability in its RAV4 and also a 360-degree panoramic view monitor which gives clear view around the car with its digital-display feature. The 360-degree view is better than front and rear mounted cameras because it provides circular image of the surroundings.
According to the details, the diesel and petrol engines with hybrid variants will hit the UK roads by December 2015, and price will start from £23,695. However, the petrol-electric hybrid option will be available at £26,195.
