Toyota has announced that the production processes of the Prius Hybrid will be ceased in June 2015 and the standard Prius will be delayed but it is not yet confirmed, when the second generation of the plug-in hybrid vehicle will arrive.
Toyota Prius has a potential to travel more than 58 miles per gallon but in the case of fourth generation, fuel economy isn’t due till the end of this year. Some internal sources said that it will not come before next year. However, these sources has piped to their friends that the production will be ceased in June.
A marketing official at the Advanced Technology Division of Toyota has announced without giving any reason for the decision. Toyota has also said that there are almost 1,100 Prius PHVs are in stock at Toyota dealerships. These Prius will be sold out within next three months if sales trend remain the same. It

The conspiracy theories said that the production of Prius is going to meet its end because the Mirai has arrived as a successor of Prius. However most of the automotive journalists do not believe these theories.
Toyota has delayed its standard Prius, there are thousands of orders in the pipeline but Toyota has not confirmed the length of this delay.
