As compared to Mercedes C-Class and BMW 3 Series, Audi is playing safe with styling when it comes to it all-new A4. The looks are indeed, what one may call “Conservative” but Audi has brilliantly brought remarkable changes in the engine line-up. New diesel Audi A4 engines and petrol engines are frugal and highly efficient. All these changes are a direct response to the feedback from the valuable customers in company’s leading markets like China, US and Germany.
This month at the Frankfurt motor show, Audi is going to reveal it all new A4 to the public. The combined fuel economy is 57.7mpg and when combined with S Tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the CO2 emissions will be 114g/km.
The diesel line-up will be fitted in with Audi’s most popular 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, but with a little upgrade to meet EU6 rules, the all-new AdBlue exhaust injection system. The best-selling A4 2.0 TDI model will be offered with two choices, a 148bhp and 187bhp version. The 148bhp version will take 8.6sec to reach 62mph from a standstill and the top speed will be 136mph.
When it is combined with an optional S Tronic system it will return a combined economy of 74.3mpg and the CO2 emission will be just 99g/km. The latter takes 7.7sec for 0-62mph and reaches the top speed of 147mph. The combined fuel economy is 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions are just 107g/km.
